The
Montejaque Area
Montejaque
is a typical Andalucian 'white village' with traditional Moorish-style
architecture and whitewashed cottages. It is built on a rocky
hillside above a fertile green valley of sunflower fields,
vineyards and olive groves. Montejaque has a central square,
church, village shops, local bars serving tapas, restaurants,
and picturesque narrow winding streets.

Montejaque nestles in the heart of the Grazalema Natural Park
famed for its walking, birdwatching and magnificent scenery.
It is only a few minutes away from the unique Pileta Caves
with their prehistoric paintings. Horse riding and hiring
bicycles can also be organised locally. Maps are available
for walking and for scenic car routes, taking in the area's
wonderful villages and places of interest. |
